Grama Vidiyal is a microfinance institution that provides collateral-free loans to women without access to formal credit, thus facilitating the economic, social and political empowerment of these women and their families.

It has been in existance as a Public Charitable Trust since 1996. It received the Non Banking Financial Company Licence in February 2007 and transformed itself in January 2008.
