Grama Vidiyal works with an integrated approach to poverty alleviation,  understanding that the challenges of poverty are multi-faceted, and that a multi-faceted and holistic approach is needed to overcome these challenges.  While GV works for the economic empowerment of its members, the groups and federations created by networking the members of the microfinance programme presents a platform for social and political empowerment of the poor.

The delivery of the services is carried out through the branch offices. Each branch is headed by a branch manager, an accountant and eight field managers. The branch is fully equipped with furniture, computers, internet connectivity and a robust MIS Software.

The basic unit of grouping members is a center. Around twenty members form a center. The center is divided into four peer groups of five member each. Each field manager caters to about 500 members or 25 centers. A branch will cover about 4000 members providing the financial products of GV and development programs. About ten to twelve branches will be considered as one division for operational monitoring and headed by a divisional manager. About three to four divisions come under one region headed by a regional manager.
