About Mr. Vinod Khosla

Mr Vinod Khosla went on to receive degrees from the IIT Delhi, India (Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering ), Carnegie Mellon University (Masters in Biomedical Engineering), and Stanford Graduate School of Business (MBA). After graduating from Stanford University in 1980, Khosla along with his Stanford fellows founded Sun Microsystems. He then joined the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in 1986 as a general partner. In 2004 Khosla formed his own firm: Khosla Ventures. His current passion is Social Entrepreneurship with special emphasis on Microfinance as a poverty alleviation tool. He is a supporter of many microfinance organizations in India and Africa. He has been experimenting with global housing. Vinod is also passionate about alternative energy, petroleum independence and environment

About the Unitus Equity Fund L.P.

The Unitus Equity Fund L.P. is a $23.6 million equity fund which invests in emerging microfinance institutions in Asia and Latin America. The Fund encourages the development of a commercial equity market serving the microfinance industry. A robust equity market will lower the cost and increase the amount of capital available to the world's poor, furthering the Fund's goal of increasing global access to microfinance.
